The Prius has more room for storing/hauling, it's been around long enough to prove itself, it loses extremely little value when driven off the lot (a used '03 sells for $22K - a new '09, $25K), and the gas savings, over time, is still better. It's one of the most popular and proven cars out there, and one of the hottest sellers. Must be a lot of idiots out there. Soon, I'll be one, too. Calling out non-elected officials and loosely throwing around terms liked "axed" and "fired" and could lead casual readers to make unfair conclusions.
